It seems that the medical community is latching onto the classic adage, “The bed is only for sleep and sex.” In a recent presentation, Dr. M. Safwan Badr, President of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, elicited both laughter and applause when he announced, “I say the bed is for two things that begin with the letter S, and struggling and suffering are not among them.”

Also called “self-quantifiers,” fitness trackers are defined as wearable devices that monitor a person’s physical activity through recordings of heart rate, steps taken and/or calories burned.
